Launch time.

I have just launched Web of Mass Democracy, a website designed to provide two things:
  • a directory of active grassroots groups and software projects, and
  • an idea forum where we can put forth our best ideas and rate them.

With this site, i'm hoping to fight some of the fragmentation that's happening as hundreds of grassroots Dean groups try to figure out what to do next. A lot of us don't even know what or who is out there, who to contact, who needs help with what, or what resources others can provide to help our own endeavours. There is a surprising (to me) amount of conflict about who is in charge or what we're all agreed on doing. So i'm hoping there will be a lot of value in just having a place to keep us all in touch that's neutral and isn't trying to control anyone.

Please mention to all of the politically involved people you know. Sign on and add listings for all the democracy-related organizations and software projects you know of. I'll be continuing to work on the category system; please let me know if you have suggestions for new categories. (Actually, any suggestions at all about the site would be great.) Thanks!

Also worth checking out: Larry wrote some of his own thoughts in response to the discussion that Noise and i had about Creative Commons.
