It is also a blue moon, and the wedding night of Jeremy Bailin, who was my best friend for many years in grade school in Winnipeg. It's been so long since we've seen each other. I felt sick enough on Thursday evening that i considered cancelling the trip and spending the weekend recovering instead — but i'm really glad i came. It's fantastic to see him so happy, to meet Alyson, the bride, and to re-meet some Shad Valley friends we had in common. And health-wise, though the cough isn't completely gone, i'm definitely feeling better than i have in at least a week.
They managed to book The Irish Descendants to play for the reception. I hadn't heard of the band before, but they're huge here — many of the guests were fans — and their music got us moving. It was good to see some of the older folks on their feet dancing jigs.
I'm glad Jeremy's back on the continent. Chris — it's too bad you weren't able to make it to the wedding — i hope you can make it to southern Ontario sometime for a reunion.
