In less than two weeks, i'll be in China. I'm going to visit my parents, who are living there for now. They're staying in Guangzhou for a few months. The plan is to visit a couple of universities there to talk about Python (my dad thought it would be cool to give some talks, and this is something that i'm very comfortable talking about), visit my dad's hometown Kaiping, and visit the schools built with Mom and Dad's donations in Yunnan, near Tibet. It'll be a busy trip.

I've never been to China, so i'm pretty excited about it. I'm sure it will be awkward and embarrassing to be constantly confronted with Chinese people who look at me and expect me to be able to speak and understand the language, so i'm a little afraid of that, but it will be fascinating to finally see that part of the world.

On the way back, i'm stopping in Tokyo to visit Chris (wordwolf) and Tina for a couple of days, which is going to be a blast. The LFW lives on in distant locales!
