A new schedule browser for CHI 2006.

Unsatisfied with the CHI proceedings DVD, which doesn't indicate the rooms and times where sessions take place, and with the mSpace browser, which is slow over the conference's wireless network and doesn't provide access to the PDF documents and videos, i wrote a new schedule browser last night.

The new browser responds instantly, since all searching is performed locally by JavaScript, and allows you to just start typing in keywords in the title, author names, affiliations, or their cities and countries of origin. You can also click on a day, time, or room to filter by session.

To use it, go to http://zesty.ca/chi2006/ and download the file browser.html onto your computer. Then open this file in your Web browser.

If you copy the contents of the DVD to your computer and place the browser.html file there, the links to PDF documents and videos will work immediately. Otherwise, you can click on the button that says "Links don't work?" and browse to the location of the DVD (or your local copy of the DVD) to make the links point to the right place.
