It is my sincere hope that we can make programmers aware of this obvious fact.
Prefixes that stand for large powers of two like 1024, 1048576, or 1073741824 (or even crazier numbers like 1024000 or 1048576000) must be eradicated from all user interfaces. Prefixes such as "k", "M", and "G" should always stand for round numbers like 1000, 1000000, and so on.
