From Laura Quilter: a hilarious parody of romance novel covers and a cute Store Wars video on organic farming.
From Slashdot: Microsoft UK launches a competition called Thought Thieves asking for short films about "intellectual property theft." There are two categories — one for teens aged 14 to 17, and one for 18 and over. It's incredible that this company can get away with a propaganda campaign designed to mislead people about the law, including minors. Copyright infringement is not theft.
And now, time for your Moment of Zen:
|On the Thought Thieves website:||On the Thought Thieves entry form:|
|Thought Thieves is about people stealing and profiting from your creation or innovation. Think about it: how would you feel if you saw your hard work being passed off as the property of someone else? What would you do?||I will formally licence, on terms acceptable to Microsoft, all intellectual property rights in my film and agree to waive all moral rights in relation to my film if requested to do so.|
